This church is not only around 700 years old, but it also boasts art that was so innovative at the time, it changed the way art was thought of and made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An 18th century fire destroyed much of the original church\u2014called the Basilica di Santa Maria del Carmine. Miraculously the Cappella Brancacci was one of the only survivors. But also make sure you take note of the door next to the Segni Chapel in the sacristy.
