Why take this tour?

San Francisco is best understood through the diversity of its neighborhoods; from traditional Chinatown to Italian-influenced North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, the LGBT+ stronghold of The Castro, and the Latin community of The Mission. You can explore all of this at a time and pace that suits you with our flexible tour pass. Just grab a tour departure schedule, choose one of our eight regularly-departing tours, and Walk On. Each tour is between 60 and 90 minutes long.

Walk On / Experience the Diversity of San Francisco / Walk Off

There is too much diversity in San Francisco to see the whole city with just one or two tours: That's why we created the Walk On Walk Off Tour Pass, so you can soak up the distinct atmosphere and culture of each neighborhood, at a time and pace that suits you. The Tour Pass gives you seven days to explore the city, with unlimited access to eight expert-led neighborhood walks, which depart at least every second day (although most run daily), so you can choose the time that best suits your schedule.

Tours for 2018 include:

Tours for 2018 include:

Fisherman’s Wharf, on this walk you’ll see the sea lions, Pier 39 and learn the history of the Italian immigrants who were some of the bay's first fishermen. Tour runs daily at 2PM.

The Golden Gate Bridge, this tour changes a little depending on the (freezing cold!) fog. On a clear day you'll walk a little of its length as our expert guide tells you about the feats of engineering that made this modern marvel possible. Tour runs daily at 4:30PM.

Union Square to Chinatown, on this tour you’ll learn the history of San Francisco according to it's most famous immigrants. From the Gold Rush to the great earthquake of 1906, America’s oldest Chinatown is one of the cultural hearts of this vibrant city. Tour runs daily at 10AM.

North Beach, where Beat Poets and Italians came to escape social prejudices, building a culturally dynamic neighborhood rich with cafe, bar, and restaurant streets. You’ll see some of the best eateries in the city, as well as see the cafes that gave rise to the Beat movement. Tour runs daily at 11.30AM (starts a block from where Chinatown Tour ends).

The Castro is one of the epicenters of the LGBT civil rights movement and home to such luminaries as Harvey Milk. You'll learn the history of this vibrant hub of social change as you see its colorful watering holes and shop fronts. Tour runs daily at 12:00PM.

The Mission is home to some of the nicest architecture and street art in the city. It's also a traditional Latin-American enclave which is full of murals (you'll visit those at Clarion Alley on this tour) and Mission Dolores, the oldest building in the city. Tour runs Mon, Wed, Fri, & Sun at 2:30pm.

Haight-Ashbury might not be the center of counterculture that it was in the 60s, but the hippie vibe lives on. Dive into the history and lore of the Summer of Love as you see the landmarks and houses that were the stomping grounds of genre-defining musicians like Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead. Tour runs Tues, Thurs, & Sat at 2:30pm

If all this walking is making you hungry, don't forget to hop onto our Taco Walk (Flavors of the Mission). A local foodie will take you to some of the best taquerías and other Latino eateries in The Mission, to sample truly authentic Mission Cuisine. You'll also see the famous murals at Balmy Alley. Tour runs Tues, Thurs & Sat at 5pm.

The Walk On Walk Off San Francisco Tour Pass opens up the city to you in new and exciting ways. You won't just see the city, you'll live it in the company of friendly locals who are passionate about showing you around.
