Then you'll head into the narrow side-streets of the old city to see some of its most fascinating landmarks. We’ve carefully crafted a route that showcases the best of this small area, weaving together a rich tapestry of stories from the Romans all the way to the present day. As you go, you’ll follow in the footsteps of a martyr, explore the old Jewish Ghetto, and get some architectural history in a square that used to be the favorite of Antoni Gaudí. Since your Barcelona city tour is led by a local guide, you’ll also get some insight into modern politics, including Catalonia’s quest to gain independence from Spain.

Your final stop on this Barcelona City Tour is the historic port, where you’ll learn about its ancient connection to the sea, see a modern sculpture by Roy Lichtenstein, and hop aboard an 85-foot sailboat for an hour-long cruise up the coast where you’ll bask in beautiful views of land and sea as you enjoy a complimentary drink.

For travelers visiting Barcelona for the first time, this tour is the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the city and develop the sort of local knowledge that will set you up for the rest of your stay. There is no easier, or more enjoyable, way to begin your vacation in Barcelona.

We had the best time with the tour! Our tour guide Chryssi was a great guide who showed us around the best places, she was also very knowledgeable about the information of ancient Barcelona and the architecture of the buddings. To top it off with a wine tasting was the best way to end the tour. We would highly recommend this tour.

Great guide, wonderful tour!

FAQ

I don't eat meat. Is there a vegetarian option during the jamón tasting?
Unfortunately there is no other option during the jamón tasting. Catalans have a deep love of ham and in their eyes, no veggie is quite equivalent.
Does the Barcelona Cathedral have a dress code?
Yes. Both men and women are asked to wear clothing that covers at least the shoulders and knees. It is sufficient to bring extra coverings (e.g., a scarf) with you, and to put them on before entering to the holy areas.
