I highly recommend this tour, you are bypassing all the general public. You are able to visit the castle without the crowds, it's so much more enjoyable to be able to see all the various sights close up and hear the history of the castle with only a small group of visitors. The castle personnel escorts you to all the highlights and also directs you to where you can visit on your own. You are able to take wonderful photos.

We had a castle guide whose name was Craig. He managed to include so much information a sentence than others might n a paragraph. And there was likely 10 times more knowledge he could have shared if time allotted because all the castle guides are so steeply knowledgeable about the castle and Scotland’s history. The pre-access tour provided the space and quiet to allow this to happen. At the end of the tour, we could already see masses of folks lining up to access the castle that we had just moments ago had all to ourselves.

Our tour was preopening early access which we highly recommend. You have a chance to see areas of the castle that you may not otherwise see. You can ask questions and soak in the amazing history without the masses of people that pour in once the castle is open to the public. Our guide was amazing. I am in awe of the knowledge and enthusiasm that she has.
