I have mobility issues/use a wheelchair, can I take the Statue of Liberty tour?
Yes! However please note that if your tour includes the Statue Pedestal (which has elevator access) the only part you will NOT be able to visit is a small platform at the very top of the Statue Pedestal.
What can I expect at the security checkpoint for my Statue of Liberty tour?
All guests must pass through airport-style security to go to the Statue of Liberty. Certain items are not permitted including any weapons, scissors, pocket knives, any sharp item, or tools. Large items such as suitcases and backpacks are not allowed. Food and drink are not permitted except water in a clear container. Does this tour include the 9/11 Museum?
No. This tour includes pre-reserved tickets for One World Observatory only. To visit the 9/11 Museum please see our 9/11 Memorial & Museum tour.
Does this tour include access to the Statue Crown?
No. Unfortunately, tickets for the Statue of Liberty Crown are extremely limited, at only 365 per day, and sell out months in advance. Walks does not provide any tours that include the Statue of Liberty Crown.
What can I (and can I not) bring into One World Observatory?
You will need to pass through airport-style security to enter One World Observatory, and unavoidable lines can build up as people pass through security. Items forbidden from One World Observatory include: - Weapons of any kind - Large backpacks or bags (the only bags allowed inside must be within the range of 25 inches high, 17 inches wide & 9 inches deep) - Food, beverages or alcohol - Double-wide strollers - Professional camera or video equipment including tripods For an up-to-date list of prohibited items, visit https://oneworldobservatory.com/content/uploads/2015/03/OWO-Prohibited-Items.pdf
How long will it take me to visit One World Observatory?
Your pre-reserved observatory entrance is at 5pm sharp. The average length of visits is about 1 hour.
Do you ever cancel your tours of the Statue of Liberty due to weather conditions?
Our Statue of Liberty tours run rain or shine. One exception is if the Coastguard ceases water traffic (which includes the ferry to the Statue of Liberty) due to inclement weather.
Are the hospitals on Ellis Island included on this tour?
No, The old hospitals are not open to the public and have to be booked specially if you want to visit them.
