In preparing for our trip to Paris I had read a blog where someone recommended this tour as a way to get the lay of the land in Paris. I am so happy that I stumbled upon it and booked. Our tour guide was Emmanuelle who led us on an all day journey through Monmarte, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower. I can say with certainty that having a guide enhanced the experience greatly. You begin your day meandering through Monmarte, exploring the view from Sacre Coeur then observing some of the popular spots in the area like where Van Gogh lived, the famous windmill, and a delicious patisserie. We then took a break at a wonderful cafe. We left the area and took a walk near the Seine River, getting to see Notre Dame. Emmanuelle preplanned some lunch options, and we sat down for a french meal at Le Fumoir which was delicious. Then we went to the Louvre. I am certain that you could spend many, many hours at the Louvre and still not see it all. I felt we were in good hands to see everything we'd hoped to see and learn so much more than expected. The Louvre is extremely overwhelming so taking a tour greatly enhanced the experience. Finally, Emmanuelle took us to our final destination at the Eiffel Tower and it was a great way to end the day. We chose to use our Seine river cruise a few days later when the weather was nice and we weren't so tired. It ended up being a sunset cruise and we docked just in time for a magical last night in Paris watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle. Note- this is a very intensive walking tour. You walk, a lot. So if you are booking this, I encourage you to ensure that you are capable of walking a lot. Think like 20,000 steps a lot. There were some people who booked who ultimately bailed out as they couldn't keep up. It's a lot of money to throw away. You will walk. A lot.
