FAQs

I use a wheelchair. Can I take this tour?
Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible. The tour route may include a lot of walking, stairs, and uneven surfaces. A good level of mobility is required and wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. However, we are committed to providing an enjoyable experience for all guests. Please contact our Guest Experience Team to discuss arranging a private tour that meets your accessibility needs.
Can I explore more of the Versailles estate after the tour?
Due to the late afternoon timing of this tour—and events like the Night Fountain Show—most of the Versailles estate, including the gardens and Trianon palaces, will be closing or already closed by the time your guided visit ends. Your ticket includes return train fare to Paris, so you’re free to stay in the area, but access to the broader estate is not guaranteed after the tour concludes.
What is special about the King’s Private Apartments?
These apartments are restricted to very few tour operators and completely off-limits to general ticket holders. Only a limited number of groups are allowed in each day—making this a rare opportunity to see a more personal, intimate side of Versailles.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable shoes—Versailles is vast and includes gravel paths and marble floors. Keep in mind the train station is about a 15-minute walk from the palace. Weather-appropriate clothing is a must, as part of the tour is outdoors. Water and a small day bag are also recommended.
Is this tour suitable for children or older travelers?
This tour is best suited for travelers who enjoy walking and want a deeper, more focused Versailles experience. It’s not too strenuous, but there is a fair amount of walking and standing.
Does this tour include the Hall of Mirrors?
Yes. You’ll explore the Hall of Mirrors as part of your general palace tour. By the time you reach it, most of the daytime crowds will have cleared. That means more space, better views, and a quieter experience.
What is the best day to go?
We think any day is a good day! This VIP Versailles tour was planned to avoid the busiest time of day at the palace for a quieter, crowd-free experience. Weekends often feature the dynamic fountain shows in the gardens, while weekdays offer a quieter atmosphere—perfect for soaking in the palace’s grandeur.
Do we explore the gardens?
Absolutely. Your guide will lead you through key areas of the gardens, including the Grand Canal and Orangerie, with insights into their royal symbolism.
Is this a small group tour?
Yes, to keep the experience personal and immersive, this Versailles tour from Paris is limited to 15 guests or fewer.
What makes this a VIP Versailles tour?
You’ll gain rare access to the King’s Private Apartments—spaces not included on most Versailles tours. Depending on the day, you will step inside the Royal Chapel or Opera House, which are not open to the general public. You’ll also explore iconic palace rooms like the Hall of Mirrors at the quietest time of day. With a small group and expert guide, you’ll have space to explore and get the attention of your guide.
How do we get to Versailles?
You will travel with your coordinator on the train, arriving at the station in Versailles in under 1 hour. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to palace where you will meet your guide. Your return ticket is included so you can make your way back to Paris whenever you’re ready after the tour.
