I took my young adult children to the early Vatican Tour with breakfast. Happily, the path between the Vatican and St. Peter's (which had been closed since the pandemic) was reopened the week before. I had booked this tour knowing that we would need to exit the Vatican and get in the security line for St. Peter's. However, as the path had just opened, this tour also included 1 hour in St. Peter's. Michaela, the tour guide, was wonderful. She took time to weave a story of history and debunk myths. She would point out items that laid the foundation of historical events and items we would later see. It was a great tour. I would skip breakfast, as we only ate the yogurt and had cappuccino.
Tour guide Mauro was excellent. Perfect English, kind, spoke clearly and took his time to explain things. This is one of the best tours I took while visiting Rome. Breakfast was OK. Eggs were undercooked but overall decent. Nothing outside of this world.
This tour was very informative. The guide was very good. We did the breakfast tour and the breakfast was not worth the money. There was no communication on what to expect at breakfast or how long it would last. The plus of doing the breakfast tour is there were less people on the tour itself which made managing the through the Vatican museum easier to navigate. I would do this tour to gauge where to go back to within the museums itself.
Our tour guide, Luigi, was amazing!
Walks of Italy does a fantastic job of coordination, giving clear instructions regarding meeting points and required items. My husband and I did 3 tours with Walks and were blown away by each one. Highly recommend.
Meeting Point
This tour meets at the green bar called l'Ottagono on Piazza del Risorgimento. We meet just outside the green bar in the middle of Piazza del Risorgimento Square. This is the only bar/cafè located on the square. The bar is on the side of the square towards via Crescenzio - close to Tram stop number 19. The closest Metro/Underground stop is Ottaviano.
Please meet 15 minutes prior to the tour start time.
