This is a wonderful experience for persons looking beyond the common restaurant circuit in Rome. Concepts may be already known to seasoned cooks/foodies, but the history of the area and where to go in the market was amazing. If you just want tasty bites look elsewhere; if you want to understand the evolving history and the challenges and opportunities actual people in Rome face with culinary globalization, this is your tour (but still with tasty bites!). While not deep into wine, the historical cellar at the end coupled the proprietors history gave me a connection to Rome and Italy that I would not get otherwise. <br /><br />The fee and length of visit are entirely fair and well worth it, though it may bore children and non-inquisitive minds.

Really great tour! Andrea was an amazing guide and shared so many interesting facts about Testaccio and all of the delicious food we ate. From pastry, cheese, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and gelato, we were delighted at every stop. Perfect way to spend time in Rome.
