Montserrat & Cava Winery Tour: Day Trip from Barcelona with Lunch

Fabulous day!!!! Would highly recommend! Loved seeing Montserrat early when less crowded and winery visit and lunch were so memorable!

This was a wonderful tour, a perfect day to celebrate with my mother. Our guide, Ariana, was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and very attentive to the needs of everyone on the trip.

Feliciano was the best tour guide! Very friendly, interactive, and funny. Even gave us extra recommendations for Barcelona. Had the best time and would definitely recommend. Loved that the tour was small and intimate and all of the people at the family owned winery were amazing as well. All around great experience

What a great experience we had on this trip! From the moment we met Feliciano we could tell the warmth and passion he had. We learned so much about the culture and wine! The winery itself was an excellent experience. We toured the winery and learned the process of how wine is made and bottled. Georgenia was the perfect host and informed us of the history behind the wine and the family! We even met the owner of the winery and his wife made us lunch as we did the wine tasting! It was a truly incredible experience…Feliciano had us laughing the whole day long! Monserrat was also extremely incredible!!

Absolutely amazing time!! Feliciano was the best guide we have ever had. So much fun with amazing energy and jokes all day long. So much history shared with lots of wine knowledge! He’s the guide you want for every trip!!!!

Wonderful trip with Feliciano on a Tuesday. Our meeting time was a bit earlier (7:40a) than many tours, but that allowed us to reach Montserrat ahead of many tour buses. Feliciano gave us a great overview of Barcelona and the region of Catalonia on the way to Montserrat, and the views of and from the Montserrat range were spectacular. He oriented us to the monastery itself upon our arrival. We then had an hour to view the monastery on our own before heading to the Joan Segura Pujadas winery in Torrelavit. The tour there was conducted by an expert oenologist who led us through the history of the winery and the production of cava (sparkling) and still wines, including allowing us to "disgorge," cork, and custom label a bottle of cava for ourselves. During a tour through the vineyards, we were served a traditional lunch of pan de tomate, beans and sausage, and dessert of sweet bread and chocolate that had been prepared by the wife of the vineyard owner. During the tour and lunch, we tasted five different wines: blush and white cavas, a red, a white, and a sweet wine. Feliciano was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable about a range of topics relating to the history and culture of Catalonia. We have taken many tours of sites and wineries in countries around the world, and this was definitely one of the best.

Fabulous tour with our guide Alexandra. The monastery was interesting and beautiful, but the winery, vineyard and lunch were absolutely amazing. Fantastic experience and loved the small group experience.
