Excellent
Absolutely loved this tour! Our guide brought along his IPad to show us different examples through out the tour. Really helped to give us a full understanding of some of the many pieces we saw Very knowledgeable and kind. Gave us time to linger as we went but made sure that we saw all of the high points through out the museum.

There is so much more to the Louvre than the paintings. The history of the building helps understand what the artist was thinking when he created.

This was only my 2nd time at the Louvre and it was outstanding. Our guide Nancy was fabulous - her knowledge and wonderful personality made it both educational and entertaining. And to see the Mona Lisa as well as other DaVinci works without a line was unbelievably amazing. I felt like I really saw her this time versus at the back of a dense crowd of people trying to zoom in from afar. I highly recommend both the tour and our guide Nancy!

What can I bring inside the Louvre Museums?

More specifically, only bags smaller than 21.5 in x 13.5 in x 7.5 in (55 cm x 35 cm x 20) cm are permitted. Suitcases and large bags must be left outside. Closed, clear bottles of water are allowed inside the Louvre however food is forbidden inside the site. Please be advised that the use of selfie sticks and flash photography is not allowed inside the Louvre. Additional security checks may cause longer waits at unavoidable security lines at times.
Do I need to bring an ID with me on this tour?
Yes! Please ensure that all members of your party, including children, have a valid ID on them on the day of the visit.
Does the itinerary of your Louvre tours ever change?
The Louvre is constantly changing its collection by taking some pieces off of display and putting other on. In general, the works visited on this tour are among the most famous in the musuem so they are rarely not on display, however, they (very occasionally) go on loan to other museums, are taken down for restoration, or the galleries they are in are closed. If this happens, your guide will take you to see other works.
Why is it so hard to see the Mona Lisa without a lot of people?
The Mona Lisa is arguably the most famous painting in the world due to a variety of factors that include its painter, Leonardo da Vinci, the fact that he left very few completed paintings, the mysterious circumstances surrounding the painting, and the fact that it was stolen and lost for a number of years. It is housed in the Louvre, which is the most visited art museum in the world. When you combine all of these things, it makes the Mona Lisa probably the most visited/overcrowded painting in the world. Seeing it without the heaviest crowds is a matter of experience, opportunity, and very good timing.
