What a wonderful time! David was a great guide, full of useful information, about food, Paris, and more.

We started with croissant and pain au chocolat. Both were delicious, a nice start. And David’s origami croissant demonstrated the technique very well.

From there to macarons and chocolate, a wonderful combination any time.

In the French market we had some Moroccan food, a savory warm spiced veggies filled flatbread served with peppermint tea. It was a great stop, and we heard about the history of the market, as well as the best stands to visit later.

Onward to the Jewish quarter and falafel. Freshly made, piping hot out of the fryer and topped with a delicious sauce. You’ll want to lick the bowl.

Next was beef bourguignon, award winning. You can see why. Loads of flavor and fell apart as you ate.

A Chou pastry filled with vanilla cream was next. It was delicious and everyone finished there even though some said they wouldn’t.

Finally wine and cheese tasting. If you tell David you are adventurous, he may try something new to even him! He explained the differences between aging soft and hard cheeses, and taught us the proper way to slice cheese, so everyone get every part of the cheese.

We learned the history of French apartment buildings and the hierarchy. We also learned the history of Le Marais district. We finished the tour well fed and smarter
