Excellent
Visited Pompeii with my 20yr old son. We had an amazing tour with Walks of Italy. Illaria was informative and animated throughout. We both enjoyed the experience immensely and I would both book with the company again and highly recommend them. The tour was fantastic and great value.

Great
Our tour was excellent, our guide was friendly and informative. I think it would be really useful to have a map of Pompeii outlining the route the tour takes. That way, when the tour has finished and we are left to see more on our own, we would be able to clearly see the areas we havent been to. Pompeii is vast and confusing and that would be really helpful.

FAQs

Can I bring a bag into Pompeii with me?
Only small bags are allowed into Pompeii. Larger bags or backpacks will have to be left in the luggage lockers in the train station. Tripods are also not allowed.
What if the weather is bad (rain, snow, hail, etc.) on the day of my tour?
Our tours run rain or shine so please dress for the elements. We also ask you to please remember hats and sunscreen if you are taking this tour in the summer as it might be very hot.
What's the best way to get to Pompeii from Rome?
Unless you are taking our Pompeii tour with Amalfi Coast Drive (which includes an air-conditioned transport) we recommend that you take the train. Reaching Pompeii by train from Rome: First, take a train from Rome (“Roma Termini”) to Naples (“Napoli Centrale”). You can view train times, prices and book your tickets in advance on www.trenitalia.com. We recommend taking the fastest train, Frecciarossa, which takes about one hour. Once at the Napoli Centrale train station, take the Circumvesuviana train, which you can access directly from the Naples station. Take the Napoli-Sorrento Circumvesuviana line. Trains leave about every half hour, arriving at the Pompeii Scavi – Villa dei Misteri stop in about 30 minutes. For more information about the Circumvesuviana train schedule, please visit: http://www.vesuviana.it/web/en/Orari. By train from Sorrento or Naples: Take the Napoli-Sorrento Circumvesuviana line. Trains leave about every half hour, arriving at the Pompeii Scavi – Villa dei Misteri stop in about 30 minutes. For more information about the Circumvesuviana train schedule, please visit: http://www.vesuviana.it/web/en/Orari.
Do I need to bring my ID for my Pompeii tour?
Yes! The full names of all participants must be provided at the time of booking and match the names on their ID/passport. Name changes are not permitted. All guests (including children) must bring a government-issued ID/passport on the day of their tour. Failure to bring an ID may result in security staff denying entrance to the monument.
Is Pompeii accessible to people in wheelchairs?
The streets of Pompeii have never been repaved or smoothed over so much of the city is nearly impossible to navigate for those with mobility impairments. If you use a wheelchair there is a special route for you, so please contact our customer service department for details.
