FAQs

Is the 7:15am departure the same?
Not quite. The 7:15am tour doesn't include early entry and the Villa of Mysteries. For the most immersive, exclusive, and crowd-free experience we strongly recommend the 6:15am option.
How long is the tour?
Roughly 13 hours, with an early morning departure from Rome and a return in time for dinner.
Is there free time in Sorrento?
Absolutely. You’ll enjoy up to two hours to wander, eat, shop, or simply soak in the scenery.
Do we get to visit the Villa of Mysteries?
Yes, but only on the 6:15am departure. This access is limited and not available on the later tour.
Is this really a once-in-a-lifetime experience?
Yes. From early access to Pompeii to the rare entry into the Villa of Mysteries, this tour offers access and insight that few travelers ever get.
Can I use this tour as a transfer to the Amalfi Coast?
Unfortunately our transport vans do not have enough space to accommodate luggage so it's not possible to use this tour as a transfer to towns on the Amalfi Coast from Rome.
Which town on the Amalfi Coast will I visit?
You’ll visit Sorrento, a sun-soaked jewel overlooking the Bay of Naples. Its lively streets, sea views, and lemon-scented air make it a perfect coastal escape.
Is this tour wheelchair accessible?
No. Unfortunately, due to site restrictions we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on this tour. Guests should be prepared for a moderate level of physical activity, including standing for extended periods and climbing stairs, which may not be suitable for travelers with certain health conditions or mobility limitations.
What if the weather is bad (rain, snow, hail, etc.) on the day of my tour?
Our tours run rain or shine so please dress for the elements. We also ask you to please remember hats and sunscreen if you are taking this tour in the summer as it might be very hot.
Is lunch included?
No. Your guide will give you a few great recommendations for lunch spots and give you plenty of time, but where and what you eat is up to you.
Is Pompeii accessible to people in wheelchairs?
The streets of Pompeii have never been repaved or smoothed over so much of the city is nearly impossible to navigate for those with mobility impairments. If you use a wheelchair there is a special route for you, so please contact our customer service department for details.
Can I bring a bag with me into Pompeii?
Small bags and purses are allowed inside Pompeii.
