Federico was amazing!!! So much fun and extremely knowledgeable! He was so excited to tell us about the places we were seeing as well as his home city of Rome!!
We initially did not plan on this trip, but a friend highly recommended that we would enjoy it. He was right. Awesome tour. It was a long drive, but we stopped half way for refreshments, restrooms, and to stretch. The bus was not large and later we understood why a larger bus was not used. The bus was as comfortable as a smaller bus can be. Pompeii was incredible with a guide that loved its history and was thrilled to tell Pompeii’s story. Then on the return trip we went by the Amalfi Coast. We were thankful for an experienced bus driver. We still are not sure how he was able to get that bus down that winding, skinny road to Positano. But so glad we did. Positano was awesome. We had dinner in Positano down close to the water and then time to explore and unfortunately shop. In looking back, it was a long day and we were tired from the trip, but it was one of the highlights of our 2 week visit to Italy.
The bus ride to the Amalfi Coast is very windy and there is a lot of traffic so there is some stop and go to get to the Amalfi Coast. You spend a lot of time sitting in the tight seat on the bus. The bus ride from the Amalfi Coast to Pompei is not too bad. Our tour guide, Antonella, was great. She is very informative and friendly. Both places the tour took us were amazing. The small town of Positano is very scenic and beautiful and the tour Pompei was very informative.
This tour has two distinct parts which don't interrelate, which guests should understand. The first part, to Pompeii, was amazing. Giuglio, our guide for Walks, and Francesca, our guide in Pompeii, were great. Francesca was amazing in the city, showing us all the important parts of Pompeii with great detail that was interesting and we felt we learned so much in the two hours we had. The second part of the tour is to Almalfi and Positano. This is a very different vibe because the area is very touristy and to us was kind of underwhelming, though the views are fantastic. There is a LOT of driving, but the coach was comfortable enough. Just bear in mind that the two parts of the trip might appeal to very different travelers. We had debated doing this tour because of the length, but were very glad we went to Pompeii. Amalfi we could have skipped without feeling we'd missing something.
This was a great tour. Tour guide at Pompeii was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Only negative is that it was a long day.
