This full-day trip to the outer islands of Venice takes you away from the crowds that flock to the center of the city and into areas bursting with authentic local history and culture. It includes a full Murano Tour, Burano Tour, wine tasting, monastery tour and much more.

Start your day by catching your private boat from Central Venice and heading out to the monastery on San Francesco del Deserto where one of the friars will take you on a full tour of the gardens. Zipping over to Burano, your local Venetian guide will show you the brightly colored houses that have made the island famous and let you take a look around the lace museum, which local women have been weaving since the 16th century. Another ancient practice is wine-making, which you'll see first hand when you cross a small bridge to the island of Mazzorbo to visit a secret vineyard and taste a wine they have been making since the 14th century.

After your Burano tour, you'll have free time for lunch, with plenty of recommendations on where to eat from your guide.

Your next stop is the island of Torcello, the first island to be inhabited in the Lagoon and home to Venice's oldest church. Your guide will show you around then give you free time to visit the church and (if you wish) climb to the top of the spectacular dome.

Finally, you’ll head to Murano, home of Europe’s most respected glassmakers since the 13th century. You’ll marvel at a glass-making demonstration inside an abandoned medieval church once visited by Casanova and Venetian nobles, now home to a glass maker and even used for Masquerade Balls. If you want to purchase a piece, your guide will recommend some shops, but there will never be any pressure to buy.

After your Murano tour, you'll hop back into your private boat and be back among the crowds in Central Venice by 5:00pm.
