Our guide was incredible, and starting when the museum first opened was the ONLY way to do it because after the first 30 minutes or so, the place got loud and crowded! We signed up for a curated small group tour, but nobody else showed up so we had a private VIP showing of some of the most iconic works of art. She took us directly to the paintings that were going to be the busiest, first, and explained the history, the painting style, the artists, the culture... her knowledge was endless, and she had a great sense of humor. If my feet weren't so tired so many days into our vacation, we would have stayed for hours more - but our 2.5-hour crash course on the greats was with every penny. Pay attention, ask questions and wear comfortable shoes (LOL)... highly recommend!

Holly was an excellent guide. She had a very thoughtful approach to the museum, its attractions, and how to think about what you were seeing. She was excellent and I would definitely recommend this to anyone attempting to visit the Rijksmuseum for the first time.

This early morning tour was excellent. My guide, Holly, was an expert and shared her wealth of knowledge on the Dutch masters. I was fortunate that the other registered guest did not show up and I ended up having a private tour. She took me to the popular works before the crowds. The best part was the discussion of the works and tidbits of info about the times that the artists were living in and what is known about their personal lives. So glad I took a chance on this new Walks tour!
