6 Reasons Why Teens (And Parents) Love Our Madrid In A Day Tour

If you’re planning a family vacation to Madrid, you might be wondering how to keep your teenagers entertained and engaged. Preteens and teens can be hard to please, especially when it comes to sightseeing. But fear not, we have the perfect solution – our Madrid in a Day Tour with Royal Palace, Churros Tasting, and Prado Museum.

Read on to discover just a few of the reasons why this walking tour captivates teens and parents alike.

It’s action-packed

From the moment you meet your guide, you’ll start discovering the stunning – and historic – Opera area of Madrid. Before you know it, you’ll step inside the Royal Palace, one of the largest palaces in Europe. Exploring the lavish halls and chambers of this incredible building will be a highlight you’ll discuss long after your trip is over.

With more than 3,000 rooms, Madrid’s Royal Palace is the largest functioning palace in Europe. This incredible residence is bigger than Buckingham Palace and even Versailles, which makes it good to have a guide who can lead the way and point out details you would have otherwise missed.

Your guide will keep the energy up as you stroll through the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Literary Quarter, and the Prado Museum. Uncovering hidden gems and learning fascinating stories about Madrid’s history and culture will keep the whole family engaged.

Madrid’s vibrant Plaza Mayor is an obligatory stop when visiting the Spanish capital. If you’re lucky, you’ll encounter an event here, such as the Christmas market in December.

Skip the lines

One of the biggest advantages of our Madrid in a Day Tour is that we skip the lines at the sites. And, when it’s time for a mid-tour snack, we have a table reserved just for us. This means there’s no waiting around and definitely no getting bored. We understand that waiting in line can be a real mood-killer, especially for teens. That’s why we’ve designed our tour to maximize your time and ensure that you’re seeing the best of Madrid without any unnecessary delays.

Snacks included

And of course, we couldn’t forget about the sweet stop for churros and chocolate. We know that a five-hour tour without a snack might mean running out of energy, so we’ve got you and your teens covered.

We’ve reserved a table at a family-owned churros spot in the center of Madrid that we bet you haven’t heard of. (Cool fact: this spot has been serving up these subtly sweet, doughy treats for over 100 years!) You’ll love the look on your teens’ faces when they’re handed a steaming cup of hot chocolate to enjoy with their churros. And for the parents who need a caffeine boost, there’s coffee included too.

Room for additional exploration (at your own pace)

Did we mention there’s also a guided visit of the Prado Museum? After the tour finishes, guests have the option to stay in the Prado to explore the gallery at their leisure. Other families prefer to pick up souvenirs at the museum gift shop, or alternatively, head straight to lunch. This flexibility allows you to do whatever works best for your group.

Want to browse more works of art at the Prado? With 7, 600 paintings and hundreds of sculptures, you could spend all day at this museum alone!

It’s teen-approved

Our Madrid in a Day Tour is the perfect way to keep your teens engaged and entertained while exploring this vibrant city. But don’t just take it from us – here’s what other families have to say:

In Madrid for spring break in our first ever walking tour and it was amazing.

Our Tour Guide Beatrice was very knowledgeable about Madrid, Arts and History. We learned a lot from her, she also gave us a surprise treat with churros and hot chocolate. I was there with my 12 years old daughter, my friend and her 10 years old daughter. She engaged both girls and made it interesting for them. They learned and asked questions and didn’t complain about the 5 hours tour. I highly recommend Walks. BTW, it was our first walking tour and we will do it again in another city. Thanks Walks!!!  – Ernestine

Wonderful Walking Tour

We did a 4 hour walking tour that included the royal palace and Prado museum. Sean, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. We learned so much and he kept my daughters engaged. Especially at the Prado museum where he was able to show us the highlights and provide us with the history/stories of the paintings which made the experience meaningful rather than just walking around a large museum without context. – Lisa

Family Trip to Madrid

We were in Madrid for vacation with our family of six people. Ernesto was an excellent guide. His knowledge of art history was extensive and he held the interest of the whole group! He definitely added perspective, especially at The Prado, that we would not have had if touring on our own! Highly recommend Ernesto and Walks in Madrid. – docmom3
