Great tour! We just had a short time in Paris so this was great to get in some highlights of the Louvre. Our tour guide Hugo was amazing. He had great knowledge and made the tour really fun and interesting. He kept us all together and gave us some tips should we visit again. So happy we did this tour as our introduction to the Louvre, feel confident if we went again we would know where we wanted to go.

Our small group tour with Simon was fantastic! I was amazed at his knowledge and his ability to answer any and all questions asked of him. We learned so much and we have continued to frequently talk about the facts we learned on the tour. He has a great sense of humor and had a friendly manner in engaging the group throughout the tour. I had previously been to the Louvre with an audio tour, which has no comparison to the in-depth knowledge Simon was able to present. I would recommend this tour to everyone!

The Louvre is so massive it can be intimidating, so going with a guide who knows art and takes Lulu to the main ones makes it much more accessible. Our guide Elliot was great. My only suggestion is take the tour in the morning if possible. That way you have more time when it is over to stay and take another look around.

Adam gave us a wonderful tour of the Louvre. We learned so much about art and history that we would have never learned without art history courses! It was fantastic and my daughter cannot look at art the same way after learning so much about Leonardo da Vincis techniques and processes. I would highly recommend.

We had our tour (Closing Time at the Louvre: The Mona Lisa at Her Most Peaceful) with Adam a few days ago and we are still raving about it. Adam and his thorough and in-depth knowledge of the Louvre, the Mona Lisa and ancient history made this the most memorable tour we have ever taken. He kept us engaged through the whole tour and he made us see the museum and many of the art pieces (especially the Mona Lisa) through enlightened eyes! He was able to point out pieces and speak about them so easily and he made the Louvre (which has always been such an overwhelming and intimidating museum because it is so vast) so user-friendly and comfortable. We (my husband and I and our 16-year old) all agree that we will forever measure all tours and guides with our experience with Adam. We are #TeamAdam and he has set the bar quite high. Definitely will recommend him and this tour!

FAQs

I use a wheelchair: Can I take this tour?
Unfortunately, this tour route is not fully wheelchair accessible so wheelchair users cannot join our group tour. Please contact customer service at [email protected] to enquire about wheelchair-friendly tours.
What can I bring inside the Louvre Museums?
Please note that the Louvre will not allow large items inside the museum, so you should bring only a small daypack or handbag. More specifically, only bags smaller than 21.5 in x 13.5 in x 7.5 in (55 cm x 35 cm x 20) cm are permitted. Suitcases and large bags must be left outside. Closed, clear bottles of water are allowed inside the Louvre however food is forbidden inside the site. Please be advised that the use of selfie sticks and flash photography is not allowed inside the Louvre. Additional security checks may cause longer waits at unavoidable security lines at times.
Do I need to bring an ID with me on this tour?
Yes! Please ensure that all members of your party, including children, have a valid ID on them on the day of the visit.
Can you guarantee that I will see every room in the Louvre listed here?
We can't guarantee it, but it's very likely. As with all museums, particular galleries of the Louvre may be closed without prior notice, or pieces may be removed for restoration or loan. In this case, your guide will make an appropriate substitution. However, as the pieces and the rooms we visit on our tour are the most important in the museum, these are the ones least likely to close or leave on loan.
Why is it so hard to see the Mona Lisa without a lot of people?
The Mona Lisa is arguably the most famous painting in the world due to a variety of factors that include its painter, Leonardo da Vinci, the fact that he left very few completed paintings, the mysterious circumstances surrounding the painting, and the fact that it was stolen and lost for a number of years. It is housed in the Louvre, which is the most visited art museum in the world. When you combine all of these things, it makes the Mona Lisa probably the most visited/overcrowded painting in the world. Seeing it without the heaviest crowds is a matter of experience, opportunity, and very good timing.
