Excellent
Tour guide archaeologist was extremely knowledgeable in Pompeii history and Roman history. She knew even the smallest details and was very good at articulating the event and the history of the city. I could not have enjoyed Pompeii without a tour guide or her. Pompeii is massive and its best with a guide who can tell you what you are seeing.

Hillary (our guide), was absolutely amazing. For the Pompeii tour she did a wonderful job balancing high quality information, fun and telling great stories. She made Pompeii come to life. The three hours seemed to just fly by and you were transported to the time and place and felt a real connection. I really wish we could have kept going and had the entire day as it was such an amazing experience.

We really enjoyed our Pompeii experience with our tour guide Ilaria. She had so much enthusiasm and we learned a lot. Given the size of the site it is great you can walk around at your leisure after the tour ends. There is so much to see. I would definitely recommend the Walks tour of Pompeii to others. Thank you!

Yes! The full names of all participants must be provided at the time of booking and match the names on their ID/passport. Name changes are not permitted. All guests (including children) must bring a government-issued ID/passport on the day of their tour. Failure to bring an ID may result in security staff denying entrance to the monument.
What's the best way to get to Pompeii from Rome?
Unless you are taking our Pompeii tour with Amalfi Coast Drive (which includes an air-conditioned transport) we recommend that you take the train. Reaching Pompeii by train from Rome: First, take a train from Rome (“Roma Termini”) to Naples (“Napoli Centrale”). You can view train times, prices and book your tickets in advance on www.trenitalia.com. We recommend taking the fastest train, Frecciarossa, which takes about one hour. Once at the Napoli Centrale train station, take the Circumvesuviana train, which you can access directly from the Naples station. Take the Napoli-Sorrento Circumvesuviana line. Trains leave about every half hour, arriving at the Pompeii Scavi – Villa dei Misteri stop in about 30 minutes. For more information about the Circumvesuviana train schedule, please visit: http://www.vesuviana.it/web/en/Orari. By train from Sorrento or Naples: Take the Napoli-Sorrento Circumvesuviana line. Trains leave about every half hour, arriving at the Pompeii Scavi – Villa dei Misteri stop in about 30 minutes. For more information about the Circumvesuviana train schedule, please visit: http://www.vesuviana.it/web/en/Orari.
Can I bring a bag into Pompeii with me?
Only small bags are allowed into Pompeii. Larger bags or backpacks will have to be left in the luggage lockers in the train station. Tripods are also not allowed.
