Why take this tour?

We take the stress and uncertainty away from getting Alcatraz tickets by pre-reserving them for you and pairing them with San Francisco’s other two most popular attractions: a cable car ticket and guided Chinatown walking tour. This is a good way to spend a day in San Francisco enjoying some of its quintessential experiences with the help of a local who is on-hand both to guide you and sort out logistics.

Take the ferry to Alcatraz and walk through Chinatown

We’ll meet out near the landing for Alcatraz ferries and give you two separate tickets. One is your Alcatraz ticket which gets you to the island and entitles you to an Alcatraz audio tour once you arrive. You can use the other to take a ride on the most famous of San Francisco’s historic cable car lines. After giving you a few tips on where to eat after your Alcatraz tour, we'll leave you to enjoy your experience. On you return, we'll invite you on an introductory Chinatown tour, which we have designed to immerse you in the neighborhood's unique history and culture - and to give you a few reasons to come back later!

Starting near the Dragon’s Gate, we’ll explore the vestiges of the old neighborhood, when it was a seedy red light district full of brothels and opium dens, stopping at landmarks such as Waverly Place, Portsmouth Square, and St. Mary’s Cathedral. Our Chinatown tour also visits a traditional apothecary, tempts your tastebuds at some of the city’s best bakeries, and even lets you taste a fresh fortune cookie (a San Francisco invention) at the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. Before you go we’ll discuss the eight great cuisines of China and where you can eat them, along with some of our favorite places for dim sum.

Our guide was xcelente

Ally was a great tour guide in China Town. We spent way too long at the fortune cookie factory. Maybe have that be the last stop and people can decide if they want to wait to go inside.
