The Golden Gate Bridge is beloved by everyone who sets eyes upon her golden towers. Often coined the "most beautiful bridge in the world" a few hours spent gazing upon this art deco wonder is time well spent. Enhance your visit to the Golden Gate Bridge by spending a short time with a local expert guide, revealing all the ways this bridge continues to inspire all who visit.

Your guide will greet you near the statue of Joseph Strauss, the chief engineer and fierce advocate who spent two decades facing every adversary including politics, finances, and Mother Nature to get the bridge built. Through your guide, you will explore some of the engineering feats and hear a ton of the fascinating facts about the bridge—including what the Halfway to Hell club was, why the bridge is painted orange, and how much the bridge swings in wind. (We can't wait, it's 21 feet in each direction!)

After moving through some common vantage points, you will start to walk along the coastline to a special vantage point not quite reached by most visitors. With the Pacific Ocean to your right, the city of San Francisco to your left, and the Golden Gate Bridge just behind you, your short time with us will be a highlight of your time in San Francisco.

After your guide has revealed the history of the bridge, its time to step foot on her. All that you have just learned only enhances your appreciation for the many years in pursuit of her building. While walking to the first tower, you will get a sense of the enormous mass, see the fine art deco details, and greet the improbable weather, a character known as Karl the Fog, her engineers faced.

As your time together draws to an end, your guide will tell you how to navigate your way across the bridge to the northern vantage point so you can walk the full 1.7 miles across or return you to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center.
