Though much of the home at Mt. Vernon was closed off due to renovations, we still had a wonderful time seeing some of the home and all of the grounds. Our guide Ray was very warm & engaging and was very knowledgeable. Everyone that was in our group (9 of us total) were all friendly and easy to talk with, making the tour that much more enjoyable. The cruise on the river was awesome. Our tour included a box lunch. My husband has a gluten allergy so he brought a snack bar with him that he was planning to eat for his lunch. When asked to make our lunch selection on the cruise to Mt Vernon, my husband opted out due to his gluten allergy. Ray spoke to the cruise staff and he told us that they would have a gluten free wrap for his lunch. Ray taking special care to make sure my husband had a food option was really kind and that made our trip even better!

What a lovely way to spend the day. The boat ride along the Potomac was lovely. Ray was a great guide - he went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of.

This was an awesome tour. Ray was our tour guide on the boat and on the property. We had a small group (4 people) and Ray was extremely personable. As we walked the property and toured the buildings, he embellished what the Mt. Vernon guides told us with lots of stories and fun facts. We has very accommodating, knowledgeable, and just a great "friend" to lead us around! He really made our day great.

We had such a positive experience with Ray! He was so kind and considerate, and also very knowledgeable about the history of the location! I would recommend this tour to anyone one and boat ride was super awesome!

An excellent historical tour. Learning about the place where the great American leader stayed and spent his last days made a big impression on me. Our guide, Amanda, was very professional. She beautifully recounted the story of the slaves who worked on George Washington's estate. For me personally, the story of the creation of Slave Memory in the forest near Washington's grave, which Amanda spoke about so beautifully, was particularly moving.
