A long hot tour when it's 90 degrees in Rome. And at the end, you are abandoned in a local market in Testaccio with no Metro station, no taxis, no information about how to get back to the center city, where no one speaks English. You are soaking wet with sweat, exhausted and you stagger around the streets looking for a main artery where you can throw yourself in front of a cruising taxi who's not supposed to pick you up in the street. That's the only way I got back to my hotel. Good luck with this tour. Better bring a bicycle.
This is a worthwhile tour if you feel like you have covered the basics. The aqueduct park was impressive
I also did the tour three yrs ago, it was best ending at Garibaldi place with the canon. The initial walk was very interesting and improved cmprd to 2yrs ago.
This was a great tour! We wanted something a little less typical than the Vatican or other sights, and this fit the bill perfectly. Andrea was a great tour guide, very respectful about the Jewish history of the ghetto, helpful to members who had mobility issues, and just a nice guy (he helped a lady lift her baby carriage up some steps while we were talking outside on the street!). The information was great as well. The acqueduct park was amazing, really cool to get outside the urban center and see something that he said a lot of people didn't see. Stop at the bakery stop was a nice touch and we all enjoyed the cookies :). Walks always delivers on their tours and this was no exception.
This tour is great because it goes to places not covered by most other tours. Andy was excellent.
