Trastevere at Sunset: Rome Food & Wine Tour

What a lovely introduction to Roman food and wine! Aurelio was a fantastic guide; we learned much and had a lovely experience. I will continue to book Devour tours whenever I get a chance for the education they provide and the avoiding of "tourist traps." It was my 3rd experience with the company, and yet another one of learning to eat and drink like a local.

Aurelio is an excellent guide. We learned a lot about the Trastevere, food, culture, met new friends and many more. Everyone was very engaged. This is a must do for everyone looking for a unique experience in Rome.

Aurelio’s tour was fun, informative, and so so tasty! They were a well informed guide that all the proprietors enjoyed (as did we!). It was a great way to find the gems of Trastevere in a short amount of time. I loved eating and learning and getting to know my fellow tour group! Given the richness of the experience, it was a fantastic value for the money.

Aurelio was a joy! He felt much more like your old friend from Italy than a tour guide you’ve just met. He even mentioned that he’s intentional about that at the beginning of our tour, and I was overjoyed when his actions more than backed up his words. We had a great group and a wonderful night trying a wide variety of great foods and wines in a very laid back atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anybody

One of our highlights from visiting Rome! Silvia was incredible, so sweet and knowledgeable!! The pasta at the end was the best we ever had and after this tour I fell in love with suppli!! Plenty of food and wine!

If we had just arrived in Italy and this had been our first tour, I might rate this more highly. As it was, we had already been touring Sicily and southern Italy for several days beforehand; while this was one of the first things we did in Rome, it didn’t seem to differentiate the cuisine of Rome/Trastevere from the other regions we’d visited. There were a lot of things we’d eaten elsewhere. Not Devour’s or our host’s fault, of course, but I’m justifying my rating. <br /><br />Also, our small group didn’t mesh very well. No confrontations or anything, but just an unwillingness to join in and find common ground. (One couple made us all pray before our sit-down meal, which was extremely presumptuous.) Again, not much Devour could have done. <br /><br />The food itself was very good, and I enjoyed the wine and cocktails. As a sampler, it wasn’t bad. Our host Manuela was very engaging and fun.
