Prado Museum Tour & VIP Botin Lunch

Wonderful experience… the guide Arantxa is outstanding about telling the history with fun way of doing so. At museum and at restaurant always keeping us focus and happy in a group very eclectic.

What an amazing tour! Cassie was incredible & gave us a curated, thorough tour of the Prado. She was able to effectively showcase some of the most important pieces in the museum & blended facts into a compelling narrative that made learning about the art very enjoyable. The private access and tour of Botin was also incredible, and it was an absolute treat to get to eat at this historic establishment :)

We knew we wanted to do the Prada and Botin on our tour. Finding this combo at Devour Tours was perfect. Aranxta brought insight and humor to the masterpieces at the Prada. I would seek out tours from her in the future. Botin was a great experience too. Nice meal in three hundred years old restaurant. Don’t miss this tour or any tour with Aranxta. Her energy and humor make the day even more a treat.

I had tried making a reservation with Botin twice when I came to Madrid and both were unsuccessful. I was determined to go to Botin for my third trip and was so happy when I saw this tour of Prado Museum and Botin from Devour. Our guide is Arantxa. She was already waiting for us at the meeting point even though we were early. There were 12 of us in the tour. Arantxa speaks very good English and is energetic and humorous. She was very organised and efficient in getting us into the museum once it opened at 10am. She brought us around focusing on the key exhibits and sharing a lot about Spanish history. Her delivery of the history was light-hearted but informative. I really enjoyed it very much. We then left Prado and walked to the Bohemian street towards Restaurant Botin. Arantxa pointed to us some of the places good for Churros, Calamari sandwich and wine tasting. We then had a short tour of Botin before the restaurant opened to the public at 1pm. We went to the basement wine cellar and also checked out the oven which has been operating since it opened in the 1700s. We had free flow of red and white wine during the lunch. Our starters were Artichokes with Jamon and Croquettes. For the main course, you get a choice of suckling pig, lamb or fish. Of course I have to eat the famous dish which is the pig. The skin of the suckling pig was so crispy. The meat was tender and juicy. And we had Basque Cheesecake for dessert with coffee or tea. The entire experience was very enjoyable and I am glad we had Arantxa as our guide. By the way, she is a chef by training and we are following her on IG as she shares her recipes with her followers.
